PHOSPHITES ACTION CHARACTERISTICS:
Phosphite acts in two different ways on the plants:
- Direct and specific action over Oomycetes (Phytophthora, Pythium, Peronospora, Plasmopara, ) and over bacteria of the gender Pseudomonas, Ralstonia, Erwinia y Xanthomonas.
- Direct action over pathogens due to the stimulation of the growth and to the action over the hormonal system of the plant, promoting the production of phytoalexins, activating the self-defenses mechanisms of the plants. It produces a strengthening of the plant tissues.
PHOSPHITES CIRCULATION CHARACTERISTICS:
Making a difference with the conventional fungicides, phosphites, are having a double circulation trough the plant, this means that phosphites moves along the plant trough the xylem and phloem. Because that, its application could be done in which ever place of the plant (leaf, stem or root). The property of the transport trough the phloem system allows that the phosphite reaches the root to fight against the diseases caused by soil fungi, this is not possible with the regular fungicides, because they are moving only through the xylem system (upward movement) only controlling the fungi on leaves.
